digimicroscopeEco Explorers After School Program

Eco Explorers’ after-school program is a highly interactive series of workshops during which students engage their senses to explore all areas of science, with particular attention paid to the ecological and environmental sciences.

Students in the afterschool program can expect an adventure in every workshop. They become the engineers drawing up designs and building new machines and the crew of creative scientists testing and interpreting data.

Dozens of program topics, student-directed learning!
All workshops are designed to aid in the development of the following scientific process skills: observing, classifying, comparing, measuring, critical thinking, predicting, hypothesizing, sequencing and experimentation.

Some of our workshops: Biomes of the World    Wetlands and Watersheds  Groundwater Systems   Crazy Chemical Concoctions   Dino Apocalypse   Unlocking DNA   Earthquake Engineers   Fantastic Farmers   Inside the Cell   Prehistoric Pittsburgh   Wild Weather
Fool’s Jewels   Green Power Engineers   Magnetic Mapping   Optical Illusions   Snakebite!   Angry Birds Physics   Sedimentation    …New topics are always being added!
